King Of The North – 'Get Out Of Your World'

Get Out Of Your World is the second album from Australian rock act King Of The North, set for release on August 5, in twenty two countries, through Dirty Rock in Australia and N.Z. and Rodeostar in Europe/U.K. Singer-guitarist/ songwriter/ co producer and inventor of the guitar pedal that gives King Of The North their huge sound, Andrew Higgs took deliberate measures to ensure this record had different flavours to the band’s critically acclaimed debut record ‘Sound The Underground’.

Get Out Of Your World explores a wider range of genres and has some special guest performances. ‘Burn’ the first single from the album features Cog drummer Lucius Borich. The clip of Lucius and Higgsy banging this high-energy rocker out live in the studio is scheduled for release July 1. John Scott from “The Mark Of Cain” did a profound spoken word cameo on dynamic track ‘The Mountain’. ‘Manic Depression’ the Jimi Hendrix classic is the first cover ever recorded by KOTN and having 30 minutes left on the last day of drum tracking, Higgsy suggested he and drummer Danny Loe put down one live take to see if it would work....it did and turned out to be a 5 minute jam of the short original.

Recorded at Screamlouder productions in Warrandyte Victoria with multi platinum producer Reggie Bowman. This 12 tracker was recorded live. Due to Higgsy’s “3 from 1 guitar pedal” (which creates lead, rhythm and bass sounds from 1 guitar), all sounds on this album come from 1 guitar, drums and vocals. There are no samples, triggers or pre-recorded loops used in the studio or live. The Get Out Of Your World tour will be the first of many featuring new drummer Steve Tyssen. Steve has been drumming in the Brisbane scene for over 10 years. Not only is he a great player with a killer groove, he is an accomplished songwriter, producer and solo artist. The multi instrumentalist has released albums and toured Brazil and Eastern Europe. He is a great creative addition to King Of The North and, his funky as hell feel, ads an exciting fresh energy to the new songs. Get Out Of Your World is a must listen to album!
